Life Coaching & Positive Psychology

It is not about being happy all the time or building a life with the absence of the negative.  Rather, a life well lived requires the presence of positive elements (e.g., humor, gratitude, friendships, meaning, healthy habits).

Positive psychology is defined as the empirical investigation of the factors that contribute to human flourishing and fulfillment. It is no surprise that professional success is only one piece of one’s overall well-being.

Work with Lauren

Life is a profound journey, and it is my goal to help you navigate it with purpose and clarity.

Focus

I focus on behavioral and thought process change. I use the evidence-based methods of positive psychology as well as the action-oriented tools of coaching.

Education

I’m an educator as I teach my clients the tools and tricks so they can use them daily and see sustainable results—without needing coaching for the long-term.

Accountability

I work with a limited number of clients per month who can commit to a minimum of 8 weeks. I assign my clients "homework" every week and keep them accountable for the changes they seek to make.

Progress

I provide well-being assessments and resources created by myself and top researchers so clients can understand “why this really works” and continue to learn and grow individually.

Services

Resilience

Effectively adapt to challenging circumstances. It is essential to perceive adversities as transient rather than all-encompassing, and to enhance protective mechanisms that fortify one’s resilience

Strengths

My approach goes beyond just pinpointing struggles. By delving into the finer details, we identify your unique strengths, and values. This allows us to harness these strengths to help you overcome challenges

Goals

While education emphasizes subjects like project management and statistics, there’s seldom instruction on leading a fulfilling life. This oversight can lead to feelings of disconnection. Gain clarity on your goals and priorities, and rediscover your authentic self with time management and self-care techniques.

F.A.Q.

What is Positive Psychology?

It is an emerging field of psychology that focuses on people’s strengths, building resilience and optimal functioning. It uses evidence-based tools and scientific research to increase well-being around the world.

Do you conduct an initial consultation?

Absolutely. It is important for me to understand your situation and see if I can be of help. Please schedule your free consultation here. https://calendly.com/laurenogle/30min

How is it different than therapy?

Traditional therapy primarily focuses on clinical issues and discussing problems on a long-term basis.  I address non-clinical problems by suggesting solutions based on people’s strengths and then hold them accountable to make positive changes. Depending on needs, clients may work with a therapist (to address a clinical issue) and a coach (to increase optimal functioning).  What’s most important: receive the support you need.

How long do you work with clients?

I require a minimum of 8 sessions in order to teach clients positive psychology tools as well as work through goals.  Most clients engage in 12 sessions and I rarely see clients for over 6 months. I offer occasional check-ins and other resources to keep my clients on track to obtaining the life they desire.

How do I know that I’m making progress?

We will track your progress through before and after assessments as well as self-reflection exercises between sessions. Studies have shown that holding client’s accountable for behavior and thought modifications has increased success rates.

Does Coach Ogle work with young professionals?

Yes. My clients’ age range is typically between 25-55. Most of my clients are in various industries such as education, marketing, healthcare, finance as well as SAH mothers.

What are the most common results from this program?

My clients take action towards the changes they want to make.  They become aware of their negative thoughts and habits and start to live better.  They see sustainable results—without needing coaching for the long-term and check-in with me as needed.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently am not able to accept insurance from individuals. The field of Positive Psychology is working towards a solution to be able to accept insurance.  I offer flexible payment options and discounted packages.  In addition, I provide my clients with resources so that after 8-12 sessions they can continue to grow individually.  I’m also pursuing my PsyD. in Clinical Psychology for my mission to merge the old and new sciences of psychology and to be able to accept insurance.

Client Reviews

"I deeply appreciate the time and patience you gave me. I came in unsure of what to expect. I had just started a few sessions with a therapist back in Boston and had been feeling like they were going nowhere. This was the complete opposite!”
Robert K.
Teacher and Tech Entrepreneur
“I always looked forward to talking with you and always felt safe exploring my feelings together with you. That’s why I think these sessions, though limited in number, were so helpful to me; I could be open and trust you while also getting actionable ideas that were focused on what I needed.”
Emily
MIT Grad School Student
"I feel myself being more mindful in situations particularly social ones, that can be more of a challenge for me. I spent time with family this weekend as well and I think it really helped my interactions with my mother, who I love but can challenge my patience as moms often do.”

Corporate Banker, Father of 2

The Need For Positive Psychology

Overwhelmed?

Nearly 70% of employees reported feeling burned out at work very often or sometimes (Gallop Study, 2019).

Healthier Life Style

Burnout accounts for an estimated $190 billion in health-care spending each year. Prescriptions for anxiety medications are on the rise, especially on the East coast (GoodRx, 2019).

Prevent Illness

Stress and depression are attributed to type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, gastrointestinal issues, high cholesterol and even death for those under the age of 45.

Stop Thinking Traps

The “we can do it all” mentality is increasing the rate of anxiety: the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States every year. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Our Goal

Being a high performing individual doesn’t have to come with burnout. I help busy professionals go from a state of being overwhelmed to a place where they are enjoying their unique journey. Finding the right balance between career goals and personal dreams without spiraling into psychological distress or unhealthy habits.
